Meet Your Teachers
Mrs. Murphy
Hello HCE! My name is Jessica Murphy and I will be one of your fabulous fifth grade teachers. I have exciting news - I am moving from language arts to science! I will have the pleasure of teaching science to the entire grade level. I am so excited! This will be my seventh year at HCE and my fourteenth year as an educator. My mom would tell you that I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, but I distinctly remember wanting to be a Spice Girl or a geologist. When I took my first education class at Texas State University, I knew I had found the right place for me. I love my job and look forward to coming to work everyday! When I'm not at school I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and son. We spend lots of time reading together, enjoying a stroll around the neighborhood, or trying out a new recipe. |

Hi Cougars! My name is Katy Mueller, and I am so excited for another year at HCE on the fabulous 5th grade team! I was born and raised in a small town, East of Dallas, called Rockwall. I graduated in 2013 from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, I moved to Houston and this will be my 10th year of teaching! In my free time I love to spend time with my family and friends, my dog, hike, or do anything outdoors! I am so excited to start a year full of fun and learning together. Mrs. Ebersole
Howdy HCE Cougars! I am a huge fan of being a 5th grade teacher at HCE! This is my 16th year in education, and I absolutely love working with this age group. Following my graduation from Texas A & M in 2017, I began my teaching career in Pearland ISD as a 5th grade reading teacher. Next, I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and became a reading curriculum specialist for the district. After many years of coaching teachers and developing curriculum, I realized that my heart belongs in the classroom and decided to return to being a 5th grade teacher. Three years ago, my husband and I relocated to right down the road in the Heights. We share our dream home with two dogs: Blair is a temperamental terrier mix rescue and Cali is a mischievous miniature husky. I also have two amazing step children. My stepson, Caleb, is set to graduate from Texas A & M Corpus Christi this year. My stepdaughter, Brianna, works for Fort Bend ISD and is mom to our first grandson, Owen. I’m looking forward to working with you and can’t wait to be a part of your child’s educational journey! Mrs. Kemper
Hello Hunters Creek families! My name is Emily Kemper, and I am thrilled to be joining the amazing fifth grade team at HCE! I will be teaching language arts and social studies. I have always had a huge heart for teaching and am so grateful to LOVE my job! Growing up in a family of educators, I always dreamed of becoming a teacher. After years of playing school, I continued to pursue a career as an educator and graduated from Texas A&M University. Whoop! This is my fifth year in education. Prior to joining the HCE family, I taught sixth grade in Carroll ISD. I absolutely adore this age group and am beyond excited to teach fifth grade at Hunters Creek! My husband and I moved to Houston this summer, where he recently started his otolaryngology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. We are both new to Houston and have had a blast exploring Houston and getting settled in a new city. When I am not in the classroom, I love spending time with family, reading a good book, cooking, and going for walks. I also love traveling to the mountains, where I enjoy skiing and hiking. I am honored to partner with your family in making fifth grade a year full of learning and growing! |
